John Vine wins a close one at Talladega ARCA ![]() John Vine won at Talladega on Sunday 07/28 in the OSW 2013-summer-series. With a plate track finish, today's race was nothing not expected. With a late caution, which brought the field altogether for the last 2 laps to finish in a green, white, checker. John Vine managed to hang on and hold the rest off the field with a win today. With the last three races and the points race so close. Everyone one was trying to get everything they could. Jack Fisher after today's race still hangs on to the points lead, by increasing his lead to 6 points now. With Chris Walker, second in points, Chris didn't have a whole lot of luck today. With John's win, he is now moved himself into 3rd in the points standing. Now he's only 17 points back. Larry Norman slipped a spot to fourth in points, being 30 back. With the last caution, there was contact from the Driver from the #44 car, Jimmy Babb. Which caused Larry to get into Fred Wolf. Fred's car ended up on the scrap heap, which ended Fred's top 5 streak. This was an unfortunate way to end the streak. On Jimmy's radio, he apologized for getting into and causing the wreck. With only 2 more races, and the points being this close, it's anyone's guess who will come out victorious.
Rob Partridge takes the win and the championship at Iowa Trucks Rob Partridge won at Iowa on Sunday 07/28 in the NSR Early Bird Series 3. Rob Partridge wins a real barn burner at Iowa. Tire management was key on this short track and most drivers managed their equipment quite well. Race went green for close to a 100 laps but then a succession of cautions re-stacked the field thus giving us a wild finish. Paul Hahn had the pole and every driver was within 1/2 a second of the pole. It made for some very close racing. Max Thériault led quite a good number of laps and there was a chess game between him and Rob. Great racing by all drivers that had many stories to tell after the race. Goody's Headache Award goes to Paul Hahn our pole sitter that got collected in a wreck and never ran good after that. Next week we are at Chicagoland.
