Pete Rawicz wins on fumes at Charlotte ARCA Pete Rawicz won at Charlotte on Tuesday 09/10 in the NSR ARCA Tuesday Thunder 2 Series. The Skoal Bandit steals the checkered at Charlotte. Great race by all the drivers that showed up. Nick Thames took a blazing pole. The race went on with no hitch until a mysterious caution for debris was called on lap 50. Ten laps later another caution for a self spin. This would set the stage for different strategies; either go as fast as you can or try to run 39 laps with 31 laps in your tank. A few drivers attempted the maneuver but only Pete Rawicz and John Stanley were successful with their gamble. Steven Young had to pit with 2 laps to go and forgot to remove the damage option and got nailed for a 29 second stop. In the meantime, the battle was raging between Rob Partridge and Nick Thames trying to catch up but at the end of the night Pete took the checkered flag followed by John Stanley. Floyd Broadley did NOT lose connection tonight. Goody's Headache Award goes to James White "aka" Jafo that was given a sub-standard race car by his team. Story to follow as he might fire his whole crew. Brian Kenney that was having quite a good race got caught for speeding on pit road which ruined all his chances. Next week we are finishing this season at Kentucky. | |
