Rob Cobb wins by 0.046s at Texas Trucks. Rob Partridge claims the championship. Rob Cobb won at Texas on Monday 06/09 in the GTRL Summer Truck Series. The unprecedented run of 6 wins in a row in the Monday night truck series came to an end tonight for Rob Partridge. Partridge took the pole and did not relinquish the lead until pit stops for the second caution on lap 73 of 96. Many drivers grabbed their last set of tires under caution on lap 68 forcing Partridge to pit for rubber when a second quick caution emerged. There was great side-by-side action tonight including a tough battle between Matt Smith and Dominic Papa. A third and final caution setup a 3 lap sprint to the finish with Richards, Cobb, Sykes, and Craig at the front all with 13 green flag laps on their tires. Cobb prevailed after three door-scraping laps running the outside with Richards on the white line. Sykes, Craig, and Wilson rounded out the top 5.
Brian Kenney makes a late pass to win Richmond Trucks. Rob Partridge claims the championship. Brian Kenney won at Richmond on Sunday 06/08 in the NSR Nortex Early Bird at GTRL Summer Series. Excellent race by the boys at Richmond. Only 4 cautions at this competitive short track. Randy Eliason took the pole and we went on for a most exciting race where tire and fuel strategy would come into play at the very end of the race. With ten laps remaining we saw a few blown tires and low fuel tanks. At the end of the day, Brian Kenney emerged as the winner having used a conservative strategy. Congrats! Finishing second was Rob Partridge, Dean Geer in third place, Jesse Fahrenkrog in fourth place and John Richards rounding up the top five. Goody's Headache Award goes to Steve Young that had a very fast truck and was looking for the win but got let down in the closing laps by a blown tire. Great driving by all. Next week we are at Texas. See you all there!
