Kevin Yates makes a last lap pass to win Pocono Trucks. Rob Partridge claims the championship. Kevin Yates won at Pocono on Monday 08/04 in the GTRL Summer Truck Series. A rough night with too many cautions at the tricky triangle ended with a big wreck in the final corner. Points leader Partridge was disconnected early giving four drivers the possibility of taking over the point lead. Richards led on the GWC restart and fended off Cobb down the Long Pond straight, but that gave Miller and Yates the momentum for the final lap. Miller looked low and Richards went to block headed into turn 3, but it was too late and Richards ended up in the outside wall. Yates powered by on the outside for the win while Cobb and others spun in their wake. The final race of the summer season is two weeks in Michigan where Miller has the best shot of displacing the champ.
Rob Partridge takes the win and the championship at Gateway Trucks Rob Partridge won at Gateway on Sunday 08/03 in the NSR Nortex Early Bird at GTRL Summer Series. Great driving by all the guys present at this tricky mile track. Only 2 cautions flew, but there was still plenty of action and close calls. Rob Partridge was able to win the race after causing a caution and taking his last available set of tires. That guy must have been born with a horse shoe somewhere! Finishing second was Rob Cobb that had led most laps, followed by John Richards that had a super close call with the inner wall two laps before the end, Dean Geer fourth and Brian Kenney rounding up the top five. Goody's Headache Award goes this week to Steve Young that lost connection to the server. Again, great race by all drivers. See you next week at Vegas!
