Woody Sykes wins by 0.081s at Bristol Trucks. Rob Cobb claims the championship. Woody Sykes won at Bristol on Monday 08/25 in the GTRL Fall Truck Series. The first race of the Fall Truck season saw 18 trucks battle for 160 laps. Some trucks did get roughed up, but the yellow flag was displayed just once on lap 138. At that point in the pit cycle, only Sykes and Partridge remained on the lead lap. As every driver could attest, it was hard to pass. Partridge tried the bottom and the top in the closing laps, but Sykes held on to take the win. Wilson, Richards, Yates, and Cobb all got hosed when their pit box appeared, but the crew never serviced their vehicle. | |
