Rob Partridge wins season opener at Iowa Trucks. John Richards claims the championship. Rob Partridge won at Iowa on Sunday 01/04 in the NSR Early Birds Winter Series. The new season started like the old one ended. Another win for Rob Partridge. 150 laps at Iowa and only four sets of tires might have scared some drivers at the beginning, but all went just fine. We had a GWC but were not able to complete the last lap and were forced to end it under yellow. Who knows what Dean Geer had left for Rob Partridge. Very good race by all drivers managing their tires as we had very few cautions. Goody's Headache Award goes to Cole Barnes that had led 89 laps and had a mishap with 25 to go. Finishing second was Dean Geer, third place went to Taco Floyd, fourth to John Vine and rounding up the top five yours truly. Another very good turn out for a Sunday morning. Happy New Year to all and see you next week at Charlotte. | |
