04/29/2015  Tim Miller makes a last lap pass to get first series win at Watkins Glen Cup. John Richards claims the championship.  Tim Miller won at Watkins Glen on Wednesday 04/29 in the NSR Insomniacs Series. Great race by all at Watkins Glen. We ran under a timed format of 60 minutes with cautions off. Tim Miller took an impressive pole position. As the race progressed, you could see that some drivers were using different strategies on fuel and tires. Very few DNFs considering 26 drivers had shown up for the Rumble at the Glen. Tim Miller had a mishap early in the race when he visited a sand trap and it took him close to 45 minutes to reclaim the lead and win the race under dramatic conditions. John Richards was leading at the time and had the race all sewn up when disaster struck as he was running out of fuel in sight of the finish line. A few other drivers actually ran also short of fuel on the white lap. At the end of the day, Tim Miller was presented with an unexpected win, finishing second was Paul Sanders, third place to John Richards, fourth to Rob Cobb and rounding up the top five Chris Melton. We had eight lead changes. This was the last race before the chase. Next week we start a new chapter at Talladega. Thanks to Ron Caranci for having broadcasted this exciting race on RC-Live TV.
