Chris Melton leads the most laps in 2nd win of the season at Sonoma Cup. Kyle Pilman claims the championship.

Chris Melton won at Sonoma on Wednesday 09/09 in the NSR Insomniacs Summer Series.

First thanks to Ron Caranci for a superb broadcast. A few brave souls went to face Sonoma. It was a great race with pretty solid battles everywhere. The SnapOn 21 took the pole. Great battle up front between the two 21 cars. Must have lasted close to 20 laps. Unfortunately the 21 of Sanders was forced to abandon due to a suspension failure. On the last scheduled stop, Kyle Pilman pitted a bit early maybe and the 71 Squeez Bacon machine of Chris Melton was able to get the first place that he would eventually keep to the end. A battle royale ensued between the Pilman and the Rawicz machine. This was for sure some of the best hard and clean racing seen when these two drivers drove their cars to the limit. Great show! At the end of the day, Chris Melton would take the win, followed in second by P. Rawicz, third place went to Kyle Pilman, fourth to Rob Cobb and rounding up the top five Rob Partridge. Great race by all participants. See you all next week at Kentucky!
