Kyle Pilman takes the win and the championship at Martinsville Cup ![]() Kyle Pilman won at Martinsville on Wednesday 09/23 in the NSR Insomniacs Summer Series. This was a strange one. A bunch of cautions in the first 100 laps and then 100 laps under green. Must have been Martinsville. Kyle Pilman took the pole, ran a quiet race, stayed out of trouble and took the win. As simple as that! On the other hand, a few drivers had a more difficult time at this short track and we saw tempers flare. We even had some "boys have at it". Unfortunately it went a bit too far when a driver decided to vent publicly in a not so polite fashion his feelings on open chat. Order was fortunately re-established rapidly by some drivers that figured this had gone a bit too far. Yes it was Martinsville, but there is a limit after all. Overall, it was a lot of fun and most drivers enjoyed this fairly long race. Setup was superb and gave some great racing. After a long discussion after the race with Admins at NSR, it has been established that in the future, any driver getting out of hand during a race and swearing won't simply be scored for that given race. I understand that some are more competitive than others and that some frustrations could arise during certain racing conditions. But there has to be some limits as this is after all just for fun. Penalty points were given by the Admins after reviewing the facts. Anyway, great chase race after all, lots of action and congrats to all the rest for keeping their cool on this bull ring. | |
