John Richards gets first series win at Nashville Trucks John Richards won at Nashville on Sunday 01/17 in the NSR Early Birds Winter Truck Series. Battle Royale at Nashville was the theme today. Hard fought race by all the contenders. Very few cautions made it a very competitive race. Chris Melton took the pole. Tire or fuel strategy never really came to play even if drivers had four sets for the total 111 laps run. Some of us actually were left with a set over the wall. The last few laps were a real nail biter where John Richards saw the checkered first, followed by Paul Hahn in second, a nice third place for Bristol Barrett, fourth went to Rob Cobb and rounding up the top five Chris Melton. Great race by all, even with that little bit of drama towards the beginning of the race. Seems like competition is fierce. LOL As always, the NSR motto is "Nothing to win or lose but friendship". After all, this is just a hobby and I will blaspheme calling it a game instead of a racing sim this one time only. Therefore, we are here for a good time amongst our peers. The bottom line is just "plain fun" and we cannot forget that it is why we all started sim racing. Long live Sim Racing!
John Richards leads the most laps on way to first series win at Homestead Cup ![]() John Richards won at Homestead on Saturday 01/16 in the SFL Full Length 1x Series. What a crazy night it was at the Sim Factory Leagues! The race was originally scheduled for Mid-Ohio. However, a glitch with the texures caused some people to become stuck in the track, unable to get out of the pits. So at the last minute we decided to switch to Homestead, and oh what a race we had! But it wasnt without incident. Jay Crabill started on the pole, but midway through the race locked up his tires trying to get to pit road and hit the end of pit wall, all but ending his day. With the laps winding down, John Vine had a shifter issue causing him to spin and collect Rob Partridge, ending both drivers chance at victory. A long green flag run at the end seemed to set up an epic battle between Richards and Geer, with Geer coming on hard, but a late race caution with 5 to go put an end to that. Richards chose the outside line for the restart, and that ended up being a great decision, with him sailing on to the win. Thats it for the regular season. The 4 race chase starts next week with the Talladega 400. See you all there!
