Rob Partridge holds off Rob Cobb on Green White Checker at Richmond Trucks. John Richards claims the championship. Rob Partridge won at Richmond on Sunday 02/01 in the NSR Early Birds Winter Series. It was Richmond all the way. Short track racing at its best and flaring tempers were to be expected. A few cautions flew here and there. After the race a couple of drivers got into a major fight in the pits. The two teams got at each others throats and after all was said and done, it ended up as a case of mistaken identity. They all went for a cold one after their hauler got packed for Las Vegas next week. The NSR officials fined each driver for $250000 each and put them on probation for one hour. Goes to show that short tracks bring the best and the worst out of people. LOL. Ah, I forgot, Rob Partridge took the win followed closely by Rob Cobb in second. Third place went to Brian Kenney followed by Dean Geer and rounding up the top five Randy Eliason. Goody's Headache Award goes this week to Rick Smead that had stalled his truck at pit entrance and found out he had no reverse gear and was stuck in the wall. You got to talk to your crew chief Rick! LOL. Super job by all drivers on this tough track. Remember, Virginia is for lovers. See you all next week at Vegas.

Brian Kenney wins on fumes at Texas Trucks. John Richards claims the championship. Brian Kenney won at Texas on Sunday 01/25 in the NSR Early Birds Winter Series. Another great race yielding only one caution. Lots of action throughout this one. The only caution that was thrown came out at an odd moment where making it on fuel to the end might be iffy. Rob Cobb took the pole and John Richards led most laps but at the end of the day, the Fuel Gods would rule in favor of Brian Kenney that saw the checkered flag first. Finishing two seconds behind was Rob Partridge, third place went to John Vine, fourth to Pete Rawicz and rounding up the top five John Richards. Fuel conservation ended up being the key to this one. Goody's Headache Award goes to Michael Budd that was running a good race but got disconnected abruptly from the net. Lots of passing, two wides and even three wides. Tire wear was also an issue as you had to manage the wear. Congrats to Brian for the win and all drivers for a fun and clean race. See you all next Sunday at Richmond for some serious short track racing.
