Kyle Pilman takes the win and the championship at California Cup



Kyle Pilman won at California on Wednesday 08/19 in the NSR Insomniacs Summer Series.

26 drivers showed up for the California Dreamin' 150. John Richards was on the pole for the start of this one. A few early cautions slowed the progress of the race due to drivers simply over-driving their vehicles. The rule allowing one caution to new drivers was applied. Also the rule for drivers causing repetitive cautions race after race was put into place. Hopefully this will bring the caution count that has been quite high in the last couple of months. Probationary periods are now in effect for new comers. Chase rules will also take effect after next week Daytona race. This will in fact protect drivers in the chase from drivers lacking experience, track time or simply being non respectful and overly aggressive.
At the end of the race, Kyle Pilman saw the checkered first, followed by Peter Easton in second, John Gallagher (Happy Birthday) in third place, Rob Partridge in fourth and rounding up the top five Ken Manzella. Goody's Headache Awards go to Chris Melton and Paul Hahn for having lost their internet connection while running up front. Also good luck to John Richards in his new endeavour. Next week is the last race before the chase and we will be at Daytona. See ya then!
