Chris Jimison makes a last lap pass to get first series win at California Cup. John Gallagher claims the championship. Chris Jimison won at California on Wednesday 10/28 in the NSR Insomniacs Invitational Fall Series. David Hart took the pole on what should have been an easy race but instead we saw an avalanche of cautions early in the race. Not sure if it was the setup or just the track offering so many driving lines at such high speeds. Although tires were limited to only four sets, it did not seem to calm the gladiators on the track. The last five laps were for sure the most entertaining of the evening as the whole pack was just racing with no holds barred. At the end of the night, Chris Jimison would take a controversial win over Morris Bogan that was leading the last lap but got slightly touched entering turn one and ending his night relegating him in 19th. place. Special mention to the two Aussie drivers Jason Bryar and Ruben Phelps for having had their best finishes so far. Obviously California weather seems to suit them well. Goody's Headache Award goes this week to Chris Melton that saw his internet connection letting him down while racing at the front. Next week we are at Texas. | |
